Indian Gas Exchange reports jump in trading volume for April

The Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) traded about 62mn m3 of gas in April, up 123% month/month and 38% year/year, it announced on May 3. 

A total of 74 trades were executed during the month. In April, 22 trades were executed in daily contracts, 19 in fortnightly contracts, and 18 in monthly contracts. The exchange facilitated gas deliveries averaged about 2.5mn m3/day. 

IGX currently offers delivery-based trade in six different contracts, including day-ahead, daily, weekday, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly. 

The gas trade on IGX encompasses multiple delivery points across India, including Dahej, Hazira, Ankot, Mhaskal, Bhadhbhut, Dabhol, KG Basin, Gadimoga, and Suvali. 

It covers six regional gas hubs: Western Hub, Southern Hub, Eastern Hub, Central Hub, Northern Hub, and North Eastern Hub across India.
