Synthica launches RNG offtake opportunity for Atlanta, San Antonio facilities

US-based renewable natural gas (RNG) company Synthica Energy announced on July 8 the launch of an RNG offtake opportunity for biogas produced at its facilities in Atlanta, Georgia, and San Antonio, Texas.

The company is currently building new facilities in Rome, Georgia (just outside Atlanta), and San Antonio, Texas, which will capture methane from waste streams to produce more than 0.5bn ft³/year of RNG. Synthica’s intake of organic waste from food and beverage manufacturers and distributors generates biogas that can be transformed into carbon-negative RNG. This RNG can then be injected into existing pipeline infrastructure to help offset carbon dioxide emissions and reduce carbon footprints.

Founded in 2017, Synthica Energy is focused on the creation of anaerobic digestion facilities across the US. The company is developing facilities in Cincinnati, Atlanta, San Antonio, New Orleans, Louisville, and other urban markets, with long-term agreements in place to manage waste from leading manufacturers in those regions.
