Air Liquide to Supply Liquefier for Korean Hydrogen Project

Air Liquide has signed an agreement with South Korean industrial group Doosan Heavy Industries for the engineering and procurement of a liquefier for a hydrogen project in South Korea, it said on December 14.

The liquid hydrogen plant will be situated at Doosan's site in Changwon and produce 5 metric tons/day of hydrogen for supply to refuelling stations nationwide. Production is due to start in early 2023.

Commenting, the chairman of Air Liquide's engineering and construction arm David Maloney said the project would support South Korea's transition to a low-carbon economy. "Drawing on our more than 50 years of experience in hydrogen, we provide our customers with state-of-the-art technologies and solutions that enable delivery of such important projects to contribute to the development of clean mobility and a more sustainable future."
