Algeria, Tunisia Strengthen Cooperation in Energy Sector
Algeria and Tunisia are strengthening cooperation in the energy sector, both in the upstream and the downstream.
"We have discussed projects interesting the two countries in the field of energy, including the supply of the border towns, like Sakiet Sidi Youcef, with butane and natural gas,” Algeria’s Minister of Energy Youcef Yousfi said on Tuesday.
Yousfi met Tunisian Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining also to speak about other joint venture opportunities.
‘As regards the joint venture operating in the hydrocarbon prospects in Tunisia and Algeria "Numhyd", Yousfi hoped that it would achieve good results,’ Algeria Press Service reported on Tuesday.
On Monday, Statoil said it is ready to resume ordinary operations at In Amenas, Algeria.
