Aminex Expects Commercial Gas Production from Tanzania's Kiliwani North Project Next Year

Aminex Plc said in a corporate presentation Thursday it expects commercial gas production from the Kiliwani North Gas Project in Tanzania to commence in first half of 2015 at an initial rate of 20 million cubic feet per day.

The company is the operator and has a 65 percent interest in the project.  Australia listed Bounty Oil & Gas has a 10% stake in the project.

The Tanzanian Petroleum Development Corporation has financed and is constructing the main 36 inch south-north pipeline system, the Songo-Songo 24 inch lateral and the Songo-Songo Gas Processing Plant.

Aminex operates in Tanzania through its 100% owned subsidiary Ndovu Resources Limited. Apart from Kiliwani, the company has two other licences in the East African nation, Ruvuma Exploration Licence with 75 percent working interest and Nyuni Exploration Licence with 70 percent working interest.

Meanwhile, the company also announced that interpretation of the recently acquired seismic data has increased the gas in place in the Ntorya-1 discovery in Ruvuma Licence to 1.9 trillion cubic feet (tcf), an increase of 70%.
