This is Bristol: Anti-fracking campaigners aiming to spread message across district

A CAMPAIGN group set up in Backwell to raise awareness of fracking is planning to take its message across the district.

Fracking Awareness Backwell started in February after a public meeting organised by Sustainable Backwell, with speakers from Frack Free Somerset and the National group Frack Off.

FAB's aim so far has been to raise awareness of coal-bed methane extraction – fracking – and how it affects Backwell, Nailsea and the surrounding areas.

Coal-bed methane extraction is an extreme drilling technique used to remove methane gas from coal seams.

This technique is favoured by UK Methane for North Somerset and Somerset.  MORE
