Arctic LNG-2 receives first modules
The first modules for the first train of Novatek's Arctic LNG-2 liquefaction plant in the Russian Arctic have arrived in Murmansk, the operator reported on September 21.
The first pipe-rack modules weighing some 9,000 metric tons each were shipped from the Zhousan port in China to Novatek's LNG construction centre in Murmansk. They will be further skidded onto the first train's gravity-based structure platform.

The next two modules have been loaded onto a ship and are on route to Murmansk. 14 units in total will be delivered for the first train, Novatek said, noting that Arctic LNG-2 remained on schedule.
Arctic LNG-2's three trains are scheduled to come online in 2023, 2024 and 2025, taking the facility's liquefaction capacity to 19.8mn metric tons/year. Novatek has a 60% interest in the project, while TotalEnergies, CNPC and CNOOC each have 10%, and Mitsui and JOGMEC each 5%.
