Aurelian Updates on Operations
London-listed Aurelian Oil & Gas has said it will focus its Romanian operations on the Brodina well, with a second Romanian operation, the Cuejdiu well, not to be continued into Phase III.
The announcement is made as part of an operational update today. The Brodina prospect is expected to have up to 400 billion cubic feet of gas-in-place and has been approved for entry into the second phase of its operations. In Phase II, this licence will have a reduced work programme with one well used, 2D seismic, geochemical and passive geophysical sampling.
Contrarily, the company will discontinue operations on its Romanian oil interest, the Cuejdiu well, and will relinquish its licence on this prospect.
Its Siekierki asset, a massive Polish gas play estimated to have up to 3.6 trillion cubic feet of gas-in-place, also continues to move ahead with the appointment of a strategic advisor Iman Hill. Ms. Hill will be responsible for the next phase of the staged appraisal programme.
The appraisal programme will include the commercialisation of gas from the Trzek-2 and Trzek-3 wells. This will implemented using a "low methane tie-in and a gas to wire option as a smaller pilot development for the gas discovered to date," the company said.
"I am delighted that Iman has agreed to join us and believe that her considerable industry knowledge and experience will immediately add value to Aurelian and help take the Siekierki project forward in this very important next stage of the appraisal plan," CEO of Aurelian Rowen Bainbridge said.
