Aussie east coast LNG exports down 14% in Dec

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast came in at 1.88mn metric tons in December, down 14.1% year/year, Gladstone Ports Corp said on January 6. The exports were down 11.7% month/month. 

China was the biggest buyer and imported 1.19mn mt of LNG, down from 1.4mn mt in the same month last year. South Korea shipped in 285,975 mt of LNG as against 280,571 mt in December 2020. Japan imported 119,509 mt of LNG, down from 322,572 mt. Malaysia bought 186,459 mt versus 185,432 mt in the previous year.
