Aussie east coast LNG exports down 3% in May

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast came in at 1.83mn metric tons in May, down 2.5% year/year, Gladstone Port Corp. said on June 6. The exports were down 10.3% month/month.

China was the biggest buyer and imported 1.01mn mt of LNG, down 23.4% yr/yr. South Korea imported 275,710 mt of LNG as against 231,223 mt last year while Japan imported 234,798 mt, up from 64,286 mt in May 2021.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from the three projects came in at a record 23.47mn mt in 2021, up 4.96% yr/yr.
