Aussie east coast LNG exports rise by 1% in June

Australia’s LNG exports from the east coast totalled 1.88mn tonnes in June, up 1% year/year, according to data released by Gladstone Port Corp. on July 6.

China was the leading importer, receiving 1.02mn tonnes of Australian LNG last month, an increase from the previous year's 1.32mn tonnes. South Korea imported 282,681 tonnes, up from 222,988 tonnes last year. Singapore imported 202,819 tonnes of LNG, up from 71,837 tonnes last year.

The three projects responsible for these LNG exports from the Australian east coast are Origin-operated Australia Pacific LNG, Santos's Gladstone LNG, and Shell's Queensland Curtis LNG.

In 2023, the three projects exported a total of 22.9mn tonnes of LNG, an increase of 1.14% year-on-year.
