Aussie LNG export revenue down 21% in July: EnergyQuest
Australian LNG export revenue for July 2023 was reported to be A$5.57 billion ($3.58bn), according to energy consultant EnergyQuest's announcement on August 17. This figure indicates a decrease from the A$5.69bn recorded in June. Furthermore, the revenue for July marked a 21% decline compared to the same month in 2022.
In terms of volume, Australia exported 6.58mn tonnes of LNG in July, slightly lower than the 6.59mn t shipped in June. Overall, Australia's LNG shipments in July 2023 totaled 77.5mn t/year on an annualised basis.
Shipments from the West coast also experienced a marginal decrease, with 4.74mn t shipped in July compared to 4.77mn t in June. Notably, West coast projects operated at 89% of their nameplate capacity during July, as reported by EnergyQuest.
On the other hand, East coast LNG shipments remained steady at 1.8mn t in July. The east coast projects operated at 83% of their nameplate capacity during the same month, according to EnergyQuest's findings.
