Aussie LNG export revenue up 112% in Jan: EnergyQuest
Australian LNG export revenue in January was A$5.97bn ($4.27bn), up 112% year/year, energy consultant EnergyQuest said on February 16. The export revenue was down from A$6.29bn in December, however.
In January, Australian projects shipped 6.57mn metric tons of LNG, lower than 7.16mn mt in December. Overall, Australia’s January shipments were 77.4mn mt/yr on an annualised basis, EnergyQuest said.

Compared with December, Australian projects delivered 11 fewer cargoes to China, Korea and Thailand in January, but six additional cargoes to Japan. In January, 32 cargoes were delivered to China after delivering 40 in December and 36 in January 2021.
About 45 deliveries were made to Japan in January, after 39 were delivered in December and up on 43 delivered in January 2021. Australia delivered 13 cargoes to Korea in January, down from 15 in December but up on the deliveries of last year when 10 cargoes were delivered.
West Coast shipments decreased to 4.5mn mt in January from 5mn mt in December. A year ago, the west coast shipped 4.5mn mt of LNG. West coast projects operated at 84% of nameplate capacity during January.
East Coast LNG shipments decreased slightly to 2.1mn mt in January versus 2.2mn mt in December. East coast projects shipped 2.1mn mt of LNG a year ago. The east coast projects operated at 95% of nameplate capacity during January, EnergyQuest said.
