Aussie LNG export revenue up 137% in Dec: EnergyQuest
Australian LNG export revenue increased in December to A$6.22bn, up from A$6.06bn in November and up by 137% on December 2020, energy consultant EnergyQuest said on January 19.
Australia exported 7.16mn metric tons of LNG in December, slightly higher than 7.15mn mt in November. Overall, Australia’s December shipments were 84.4mn mt/yr on an annualised basis.

Compared with November, Australian projects delivered five fewer cargoes to China, Korea and Singapore in December, but 13 additional cargoes to Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.
In December, 40 cargoes were delivered to China after delivering 43 in November and 44 in December 2020. Thirty-nine deliveries were made to Japan in December, after 30 were delivered in November and down on 41 delivered in December 2020. Australia delivered 15 cargoes to Korea in December, down by one cargo on November but well up on the deliveries of last year when 6 cargoes were delivered.
West Coast shipments increased to 5mn mt in December compared with 4.9mn mt in November, with 73 cargoes in December compared to 71 in November. East coast LNG shipments decreased slightly to 2.2mn mt in December versus 2.2mn mt in November, with 32 cargoes compared to 33 in November.
Australian LNG exports reached a record 80.9mn mt in 2021, up 3.7% year/year, EnergyQuest reported earlier this month.
