Australia Top LNG Exporter in November: Report

Australia became world’s largest exporter of LNG during November with total shipments at 6.6 million metric tons, advisory firm EnergyQuest said December 12. 

Exports in November were up 3.1% on October, pushing Australia above Qatar as world biggest exporter of the commodity. Australia’s November LNG shipments were 81mn mt/yr on an annualised basis, EnergyQuest said.

In November, China passed Japan as the world’s largest importer of LNG, EnergyQuest said.

China has not released the official November LNG import figures yet. However, Asia’s biggest economy imported record gas (pipeline and LNG) last month, according to latest customs data released December 8.
