Australian east coast LNG exports up 9% in March
LNG exports from three projects on the Australian east coast came to 1.98mn metric tons (mt) in March, up 8.8% year/year, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Ports Corporation. The exports were up 0.5% month/month.
China imported 1.44mn mt of LNG last month, up from 1.09mn mt in March 2020, the data showed. South Korea imported 231,469 mt as against 414,875 mt in the same month of last year while shipments to Japan came to 65,720 mt versus 127,228 mt. Malaysia imported 248,364 mt, up from 186,694 mt last year.

The three projects exported 22.36mn mt in 2020, up over 1% yr/yr despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The projects are APLNG; Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG.
