Australia's North West Shelf Project Could Reach Full Capacity by Month End
Australia's North West Shelf (NWS) LNG was loading its third LNG cargo since production restarted Monday, with full production rates expected by the end of the month, several market sources told Platts Monday.
Negotiations are also on with NWS’ long-term buyers over the deferral of cargoes affected by the shutdown to the winter period.
NWS’ long term customers include Kogas, TEPCO, Chubu Electric and several other Japanese utilities.
Platts had previously reported that production at the 16.3 million mt/year plant was halted in the week ended May 8 following an electrical incident at the facility's Karratha Gas Plant May 5, resulting in a loss of power supply.
Production had restarted by May 11.
