Australia’s Synergy, Verve sign Gorgon gas supply deal

Australia’s power generator Verve Energy and electricity retailer Synergy have signed a LNG supply deal with Chevron led Gorgon project.

The deal would be for a combined 125 terajoules per day, for 20 years commencing in 2015.

The new supply will coincide with the expiration of Verve's and Synergy's existing gas supply arrangements around 2015-16

It's the first domestic gas deal for the Gorgon project, with partners signing on Chinese and Japanese customers over the past two years.

Partners in the Gorgon project are Chevron, Shell and Exxonmobil.
