Barzan Project to Provide Additional 1.4 bcf of Gas
Barzan Gas project is expected to expected to supply addition gas to the tune of 1.4bn cubic feet to the Qatari market.
The project will most likley start from next year, said Bart Cahir, ExxonMobil Qatar president and general manager at the 'Business and Investment in Qatar Forum' in Berlin, Gulf Times reported.
Cahir said Qatar’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports provide a “reliable, steady source of income” to support its growing population and the associated demand for public services, transportation requirements and infrastructure development.
Through Al Khaleej Gas, a joint project between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil, natural gas from the North Field is supplied to the domestic market. Cahir pointed that with supply of additional gas from Barzan Gas project, Qatari economy will be greatly benefited, Gulf Times said.
