Biogest to construct biomethane plant for Ina in central Croatia

Biogest, a manufacturer of biomethane and biogas plants, announced on April 16 that it had secured an order to build a biomethane plant for Zagreb-based Ina in Sisak, central Croatia.

The biomethane produced at the Sisak facility will be integrated into Croatia's gas system, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional natural gas. Moreover, the residual by-products generated during the biomethane production process will be utilised as ecologically friendly fertiliser.

"Our innovative PowerRing technology will play a vital role in transforming agricultural waste into renewable energy, contributing to the country's green energy transition and showing the potential of biomethane as a sustainable fuel source,” remarked Biogest’s CEO, Martin Schlerka.

Biomethane, already widely used as a carbon-neutral alternative to natural gas across Europe, is produced from sustainable feedstock such as underutilised silage, slurry, and food waste.
