Boskalis Awarded Heavy Lift Contract for NA LNG Project
Netherlands-based Royal Boskalis Westminster said February 7 it has been awarded a contract for the transportation of a large number of modules for a North American LNG export facility.
The contract is worth an estimated $55mn (C$73mn) but with optional extensions could increase to $85mn.

The scope of work includes the logistical management and transportation of various large modules from a fabrication yard in China to the facility in North America. Two high-end, open-stern heavy transport vessels would be used starting in 2Q 2021 and continuing through to 3Q 2022.
Although Boskalis did not say which LNG project the contract is with, the lift schedule suggests it could be the LNG Canada project, led by Anglo-Dutch major Shell. A Canadian subsidiary of Boskalis, Boskalis Canada Dredging and Marine Services, had earlier won the contract to deepen LNG Canada’s tanker turning basins.
