BP, Daimler team up to develop hydrogen refuelling in UK
BP announced on October 27 it was teaming up with German automaker Daimler to develop infrastructure for refuelling trucks with hydrogen in the UK.
The pair have signed a memorandum of understanding on developing a network of up to 25 hydrogen refuelling stations across the UK by 2030. This hydrogen would be green, produced from water at electrolysers that run on renewable power, BP said.

"Hydrogen is critical to decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors – and for heavy and long-distance freight it is sometimes the only answer," BP's executive vice president for customers and products, Emma Delaney, said.
BP is looking to establish an early position in the UK hydrogen sector. It has plans with partners to develop a 1-GW blue hydrogen plant in Teesside.
Daimler has said it wants to produce CO2-neutral vehicles only by 2039, using battery power and hydrogen-based fuel cells. It sees liquid hydrogen as having the strongest potential as a low-carbon fuel, as it takes up less space versus gaseous hydrogen.
