BP does not need more U.S. oil and gas resources, CEO says
LONDON, Oct 31 (Reuters) - BP does not need new oil and gas resources in the United States, CEO Murray Auchincloss told Reuters on Tuesday.
"We do not need resources in the United States. We have a ton of resources. They're very high quality, and they've got incredible growth rates that rival what has been done by some of the competition," Auchincloss said.

He would not comment directly on a Reuters report that BP was seeking to form joint ventures around its U.S. onshore natural gas fields, but said that "these rumours in the press about BPX are not true" referring to BP's shale business. (Reporting by Ron Bousso; editing by Jason Neely)
