Brazil Investigates Participation in Ukraine Black Sea Shelf
Brazil may participate in the development of the Ukrainian Black Sea shelf.
Ukraine's ambassador to Brazil Ihor Hrushko said Brazil's state oil company Petrobras is ready to send its experts to Ukraine to study the possibility of participating in projects for the extraction of hydrocarbons in the Black Sea shelf.
The diplomat noted that Petrobras specialists have experience in oil and gas production at great depths of up to 7 kilometers.
In August, Brazilian ambassador to Ukraine Antonio Fernando Cruz de Mello said that Petrobras was ready to invest in the Black Sea shelf development at a meeting with Ukraine's Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Mykola Zlochevsky.
"Brazil is a world leader in deepwater drilling. We hope that the Brazilian investment will be involved in the development of the Black Sea shelf," the Ukrainian minister emphasized.
Apart from this, he noted that investors were offered two open shale gas fields - Oleske and Yuzovske.
Naftogaz has entered into cooperation agreements on the Black Sea shelf with Total E&P Activities Petrolieres, Halliburton, ExxonMobil and RWE Dea AG.
