Brazil's Petrobras Delays Gas Pipeline Sale
Brazil's national oil company Petrobras has reopened the "analysis and buyer qualification" stage of the sale of a 51% stake in gas distribution holding Gaspetro, it said on May 4, effectively putting the divestment on hold.
Gaspetro has interests in several gas distribution companies operating 10,000 km of pipeline in Brazil. It distributed 29mn m3/day of gas last year to around 500,000 customers.
Petrobras announced in mid-March it would start collecting non-binding bids for its share of Gaspetro. The remaining 49% of the company is held by Japanese energy firm Mitsui.
