Brimex Energy secures Mexico's first biomethane production permit
Brimex Energy, a joint venture between Grupo Serrano of Mexico and Farmergy of England, has obtained Mexico's inaugural permit for the bioenergetics production of biomethane, Holland & Knight, the legal representative to the company, announced on April 24.
The project encompasses the implementation of a biodigester system for waste treatment, designed to generate biogas and subsequently convert it into biomethane through purification processes.
Situated in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, the facility and its accompanying equipment can produce up to 27,000 m3/day of biogas, equivalent to 12,456 m3/day of biomethane. Additionally, the storage infrastructure will accommodate 11,500 m3 of biogas, translating to 4,200 m3 of biomethane.
Holland & Knight played a role in facilitating Brimex Energy's interaction with the Ministry of Energy and the Clean Energies General Direction, to secure the necessary permit for the project's execution.
