FOCUS: Bulgaria to suffer from Russian-American opposition over South Stream: Vasil Vasilev

“Problems around the South Stream gas pipeline project are obviously incited by the Russian-American opposition, while Bulgaria will suffer from the increasing tension,” said Vasil Vasilev, chairperson of the Vasilevi Brothers Foundation, speaking for Radio FOCUS.

“Both great powers – the U.S.A. and Russia, are aware of what the other party’s move will be long before it happens,” Vasilev remarked.
According to him, Russia knew that Ukraine was an unstable country and suspected that the U.S.A. had plans for it and that was why it created the South Stream and the annexation of Crimea.

“After the gas crisis few days ago, when Ukraine suspended the Russian gas transit to Europe, they had to speed up the South Stream,” Vasilev said.
