Bulgarian MPs Reject Shale Gas Moratorium
The Bulgarian Parliament voted Wednesday to reject a proposal by the far-right nationalist Ataka party for a moratorium on shale gas exploration in the country.
Addressing Prime Minister Boiko Borisov, Ataka leader Volen Shopov called on the government to: "Give Chevron back their bribe, if your took one, stop shale gas exploration and chase this company away from Bulgaria"
Borisov had stated that he would respect the wishes of Parliament and endorse a moratorium on shale gas, if it were so voted.
