LSE: Bulgarian cabinet survives no-confidence vote over South Stream
Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski's on Friday survived a no-confidence motion the opposition had launched alleging that the centre-left government is violating EU rules regarding monopolies in the South Stream gas pipeline project.
It was the fourth no-confidence vote against Oresharski's government in the past year. The vote went 116-93 against the motion.
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said after the EU summit on Tuesday that Bulgaria must follow EU energy market rules in the construction of the South Stream pipeline.
