Famagusta Gazette: Cabinet approves Cyprus-Jordan MoU on energy

The Council of Ministers approved on Wednesday the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the sector of energy between the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan.

Deputy Government Spokesman Victoras Papadopoulos said the MoU provides for cooperation in exchanging information, expertise, and experience on hydrocarbons, energy infrastructure, energy network management, liquefied fuel reserves, and the protection of the environment.

It also provides for investigating the possibility of exporting natural gas from Cyprus to Jordan, and the exchange of information, expertise, knowledge, and training regarding the installation and operation of renewable energy systems, saving energy, and the energy performance of buildings.
