Star Africa: Cameroon Suspends License Issuance to Gas Depot Operators

Cameroon’s mining, industry and technology development ministry has decided to suspend the issuance of permits to run gas depots for domestic use across the country, reports said on Saturday.This transitional measure is meant to facilitate the establishment of a new regulation that ensures not only the security of the facilities, but also the efficient distribution of this highly-flammable product.

The objective is to create standard gas depots, as some of those existing having been rocked by a series of explosions.
