Canada’s Enbridge announces leadership changes

Canadian infrastructure company Enbridge said January 19 Cynthia Hansen, its executive vice president and president of Enbridge Gas, its gas distribution and storage business, will replace Bill Yardley, who is set to retire May 31 as executive vice president and president of gas transmission and midstream.

“Bill has led a top-notch gas transmission business, significantly expanded our franchises, and executed our LNG gas pipeline export strategy,” Enbridge CEO Al Monaco said. “Equally important, he’s advanced our mission to bring the gas business to the forefront of safety, reliability, and customer service.”

Hansen will succeed Yardley effective from March 1 and will be supported by him in the transition until his retirement.

“Ms Hansen brings a wealth of experience in the natural gas industry and a long track record of accomplishments at Enbridge,” the company said. “Under Ms Hansen’s leadership the utility has generated tremendous rate base growth, combined our two Ontario utility franchises, and advanced our low carbon energy strategies.”

Michele Harradence, currently senior vice president and COO of gas transmission and midstream, will succeed Hansen from March 1. She will report directly to Monaco, and will move to Toronto from Houston.

Finally, Vern Yu, executive vice president and CFO, has been assigned expanded accountability for corporate development and energy services, also effective from March 1.
