Capstone in New England biogas-to-power project

Capstone Green Energy said March 11 its microturbine technology has been chosen for a landfill gas-to-energy project in New England.

A 1 MW microturbine system developed by Capstone and distributed by Vergent Power Solutions will be used to convert biogas at the landfill, which is currently being flared, into electricity for delivery into a municipal power grid.

The waste to energy project is expected to be commissioned in early 2023 and is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in New England by about 3,500 tons/year.
