Chevron, EBN, Dyas & TAQA Offshore Take First Gas From Dutch B13 Field
Chevron subsidiary, Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands, has announced that it has taken first gas from the B13 field on the Dutch Continental Shelf. The gas will be added to that from the A12 field and transported to Den Helder, the Netherlands through the A6-F3 and NOGAT pipelines.
"First gas from the B13 field is a significant accomplishment given the technically challenging environment of the shallow gas fields in the A&B blocks," Gerard Schut, General Manager of Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands said.
"The development of fields like the A12 and the B13 fields underscores Chevron’s commitment to making incremental investments in our North Sea assets and demonstrates our ability to execute projects with focus on safety and the environment even under challenging conditions.
"Bringing B13 to production safely and on schedule is a significant achievement for the project team and all others within Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands who have supported their efforts."
First gas was produced from the field on Monday of this week, with current production levels at 37.2 million standard cubic feet a day.
The B13 field is the second phase of Chevron's development of gas field in the A and B fields in the Dutch North Sea. Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands holds a 34.129 per cent stake in a joint venture on the A and B blocks. Dutch company EBN holds a 47.377 per cent stake in the blocks, while Dyas holds a 14.627 per cent stake and TAQA Offshore holds a 3.877 per cent stake.
"The B13 field is another excellent example of the potential for production of shallow gas from the Dutch Continental Shelf," CEO of EBN, Jan Dirk Bokhoven said. "Successes like these prove that it is very rewarding to invest in exploration and production in the Netherlands."
