Chevron Finds Success in the Carnarvon Basin

Chevron Corp. has drilled two successful offshore exploration wells in in WA-205-P the Carnarvon Basin.

The Acme West-1 well encountered about 115m of net gas pay while Acme West-2 struck 56m of net gas pay.

Chevron said the two wells added additional resources adjacent to last year’s Acme discovery.

“This is our eleventh exploration discovery in a 24-month period. Our exploration success and ability to continually add to our Australian portfolio supports our long-term plan to position Chevron as one of the world's leading LNG suppliers,” Chevron vice chairman George Kirkland said.

Chevron holds a 67% operating interest in WA-205-P while Shell holding the balance.
