Chevron’s East Kalimantan Gas Project Looks to 2015 Startup
Chevron’s natural gas project off East Kalimantan is expected begin production in 2015, country’s oil and gas regulator BPMigas said.
The site is expected to produce about 400 million cubic feet a day of natural gas.
Bangka, the Gendalo and Gehem are the three sections in Chevron’s Indonesia Deepwater Development.
Bangka well is expected to start in first quarter of 2015 while the Gendalo hub, which consists of three natural gas fields will likely start in fourth quarter of 2016. The final area, Gehem, will begin flowing in the second quarter of 2017.
Area’s peak output can reach as much as 1 billion cubic feet which may be achieved in 2017 to 2018.
Natural gas produced from the Gendalo-Gehem hubs will be used inside Indonesia and supplied to Bontang liquefied natural gas facility for export.
