Khartoum on Tuesday announced China will help in oil and natural gas field in Sudan, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.

Sudan’s oil minister Mohammed Zayed Awad said, announced China will begin working to produce gas in the Red Sea, Sinnar, and West Kordofan.

The Sudanese minister further explained that China has also agreed to introduce the natural gas processing technology to increase the production.

According to news agency Sudan Tribune, Sudan began production of natural gas in 2009 from Tawakul well in Sinnar state within Block No. (8) with production of 3.7 million cubic feet of gas a day, announcing that the total gas reserve at the block amounted to 25 billion cubic feet.

Last week President Omer al-Bashir and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a bilateral strategic partnership, including an agreement for production of natural gas in Sinnar.
