China's Anhui Province Has 3.37tn m3 Shale Gas Reserves
China’s Anhui province has shale gas reserves of 3.37 trillion m³, according to a statement published on the provincial government website March 3.
The province has delineated eight reserves, while another nine sites have been selected as potential exploration areas, authorities said at the meeting to discuss the Wanjiang Economic Zone geological survey.

Geological survey report suggested that the province should further strengthen the shale gas prospecting area survey, promote the development of shale gas related industries, improve the energy supply structure of Wanjiang Economic Zone.
In the past few years China has been working hard to exploit its vast shale gas reserves. According to experts, China has achieved significant improvements in shale gas exploration technology. CNPC and Sinopec are the two state owned firm dominant in the sector.
