China's First FLNG Terminal's First Phase Complete

China's first FLNG terminal completed its first phase of construction in the northern port city of Tianjin on Tuesday, news agency Xinhua reported.

The terminal, jointly funded by CNOOC Gas & Power Group, a unit of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Tianjin Port (Group) Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Gas Group Company Limited, is designed to supply 3 billion cubic meters of gas each year. It can supply imported LNG to cities such as Beijing and Tianjin.  

Construction began in 2012 with a total investment of 3.3 billion yuan ($537 million), Xinhua said.

The terminal will also supply natural gas to Hebei and Shandong provinces in the long run.
