China's Fuling Shale Gas Field Daily Output Touches 13 mcm

Fuling shale gas field's daily output stood at 13 million cubic meters as on June 15, reported Xinhua Finance citing local government statement.

Four million cubic meters of shale gas is being pumped into long-distance natural gas pipeline. The 134 km pipeline was commissioned earlier this year. Close to five million cubic meters of shale gas is being supplied to local market each day. Sinopec, which is developing the field, expects to transit six billion cm of shale gas each year out of the Fuling field using the pipeline.

Sinopec plans to build 63 platforms with 253 wells and form 5 billion cubic meters of shale gas production capacity in Fuling by the end of 2015, Xinhua Finance said.

Last year, Sinopec’s Fuling field was verified by Chinese government as country’s largest shale gas play. The Ministry of Land and Resources verified proven reserves of nearly 107 billion cubic metres (bcm) in the Fuling shale gas field.
