China's Gas Reserves Jumped the Most Last Year
China’s natural gas reserves increased the most last year, China Daily reported citing a senior government official.
New proven natural gas reserves were at 961 billion cubic meters in 2012, up 33 percent year-on-year, Xu Dachun, deputy director of the mineral resources reserves department of the Ministry of Land and Resources, said at a press conference in Beijing, China Daily reported.
Of the new proven natural gas reserves in 2012, 501 billion cu m can be technically recovered, up 36 percent from the previous year, according to Xu.
The ministry did not release any figures for shale gas reserves in the country.
