Green Dragon Gas output up 227%
China’s coal bed methane gas producer Green Dragon Gas has seen a three times increase in production in its latest quarter as new extraction methods boosted recovery rates.
The company increased total production to 406m cu ft in the third quarter, 227% up on year.
Production came entirely from the Shizhuang South block, where Greka Drilling's LiFaBriC enhancement of its horizontal SIS methodology applied to line faulted brittle coals continues to increase production rates.
Green Dragon has huge reserves of gas, estimated at 273 billion cubic feet on a proved and probable basis, and has embarked on a US$250 million programme to develop the resource with the gas produced sold into China.
It remains on track to achieve its previously-stated annualised production rate target of 18bn cu ft.
