China's LNG imports up 14% in H1 2024

China imported 38mn tonnes of LNG during the January-June period (H1), marking a 13.9% increase compared to last year, according to data published by the customs department on July 18.

In June alone, LNG imports were 5.62mn tonnes, a 4.6% decrease year/year.

China's pipeline gas imports in H1 amounted to 26.7mn tonnes, up 15% year/year. In June, total pipeline gas imports reached 4.8mn tonnes, an 8.4% increase compared to the same month last year.
