China's Tarim Oilfield's output up 3%

The Tarim oilfield, one of China’s biggest upstream projects, has produced 30mn metric tons of oil and gas equivalent this year up to December 11, up 3.2% year/year, its state-owned operator CNPC said on December 14.

The figure included over 6mn mt of oil and 30bn m3 of natural gas. CNPC late last year said it wants to raise Tarim's production to 40mn mt of oil equivalent by 2025. The field is located in China's northwestern Xinjiang province.

Since the beginning of 2021, a new production capacity of 922,000 mt of crude oil and 2.76bn m3 of natural gas has been built, CNPC said.
