Chinese Kela-2 Gas Field Reaches Production Milestone
One of China’s biggest gas fields, Kela-2, located in Xinjiang region, has reached a production milestone, operator of the field CNPC said July 5.
The cumulative production of the field has reached 100bn m3 as of July 4, CNPC said. There are 19 wells in the Kela 2 gas field currently running.
The field was discovered in 1998 and production began in 2004. The field produces natural gas and condensates. Kela-2 is one of the main fields in Xinjiang's Tarim basin, and feeds gas into the West-East gas pipeline.
