Chinese Wison, GTT to Work on LNG Projects

Chinese Wison Offshore & Marine and French GTT have signed an agreement to cooperate on various LNG projects, Wison said October 26.

The two parties will work together on project such as LNG carriers, LNG floating storage regasification units, floating LNG units or other LNG floating units with GTT membrane tanks.

The cooperation with GTT will help to strengthen the company’s position in offering clients floating LNG products in full range of capacities, Wison said, adding that it will further enhance its capability to design and build facilities that integrate GTT technology and engage GTT licensed outfitters.

“We will be able to offer together innovative and cost effective solutions in this area, as well as other markets such as LNG as a fuel, bunkering and small scale shipping.” said Philippe Berterottiere, CEO of GTT.

Wison was the first company in the world to construct barge-based FLNG and FSRU units, both executed at its shipyard in China.

“By leveraging Wison’s expertise in EPC project execution and GTT’s leading technologies, we’ll provide the LNG industry with more economical and tailor-made solutions to help clients achieve higher yield in their investment and unlock the market potential,” said Ying Cui, CEO of Wison Offshore & Marine.
