CIMIC Bags Oz APLNG Contract
Australia’s CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been awarded a contract worth A$90mn by Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) for drilling of more than 300 coalbed methane wells over two years, it said February 12.
CPB Contractors has already delivered gas gathering infrastructure for more than 800 wells for APLNG over the past five years. Works under the new contract include infrastructure for access tracks and well site lease pad preparation, gas and water pipeline gathering networks, electrical supply networks and rehabilitation of right of ways after installations are complete, IMIC said.
APLNG (a joint venture comprising Origin, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec) is Australia’s largest producer of coalbed methane and supplies gas to Queensland’s domestic gas market, while also processing CBM into LNG for exports.
