Cnooc Ups Truck Loading Capacity at Zhejiang Terminal
Cnooc Gas and Power’s Zhejiang LNG terminal, located near the city of Ningbo in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, has expanded its truck loading capacity.
The company November 14 said it has launched ten new LNG truck loading stations at the Zhejiang terminal, taking the total to 29. The terminal’s loading capacity will increase from 380 trucks/day to 580 trucks/day which will help in increasing supply of gas in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Cnooc Gas and Power, a unit of state-owned Cnooc, has started work on the second phase of the terminal. Once the second phase is complete by end-2020, terminal’s capacity will double to 6mn mt/yr. The first phase work started in 2009 and the terminal was commissioned in 2012 with LNG imported from Qatar. Cnooc Gas and Power has 51% stake in the terminal while other shareholders are Zhejiang Energy Company (29%) and Ningbo Power (20%).
Cnooc Gas and Power recently expanded the truck loading capacity of its Tianjin LNG receiving terminal located in the northern Chinese prefecture of Tianjin.
