    Cnooc's Yuedong Terminal Hits Milestone

Cnooc's Yuedong Terminal Hits Milestone

Cnooc Gas and Power’s Yuedong LNG import terminal in Guangdong province has unloaded more than 1 million metric tons of LNG since the start of operations in April 2017, the company said July 19.

With the arrival of vessel Woodside Chaney July 18, the terminal has received 15 vessels since the start of operations and has unloaded 1.05mn mt of LNG. The terminal has sold 870,000 mt of trucked LNG and 27,000 mt of CNG (compressed natural gas) to date, Cnooc Gas and Power said. 

Located in Jieyang, in eastern Guangdong, the terminal has a capacity of 2mn mt/yr. Cnooc Gas and Power, a unit of Cnooc, operates eight LNG import terminals at Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Putian, Yuedong, Dapeng, Zhuhai and Hainan. Shenzhen LNG terminal, its ninth, is expected to receive it first cargo next month. Last month the company started work on the first phase of 3mn mt/yr Zhangzhou LNG import terminal in Fujian province. The company also approved the expansion of its Tianjin LNG terminal.
