CNPC's Qinghai Field H1 Gas Output at 3.23 bcm
CNPC’s Qinghai field produced 3.23 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the first half of 2016, the company announced on Friday.
Production of crude oil touched 1.106 million tons, the company added saying that since the start of the year the field has seen rapid growth in reserves, production and efficiency.
Qinghai field is in the Qaidam Basin in northwest China’s Qinghai province. In the mid-1990s, the discovery of the Tainan, SeBei-1, and Sebei-2 gas fields sharply raised natural gas resources of the province, turning Qinghai into CNPC's fourth-largest natural gas producing province after Sichuan, Tarim and Changqing.
Qinghai province is rich in oil and natural gas resources and a major oil and natural gas production region. At the end of 2009, the cumulative proven in-place oil and gas reserves stood at 370 million tons and 290 billion cubic meters, representing only 25 percent and 11 percent of the proven ratio, respectively.
